This is admittedly just the beginning of an article on garter belts. They were quite common in the 1950s through the 1960s, until pantyhose was introduced. However, they began to have a revival in the 1970s when some women found them more practical and more comfortable. They also had sex appeal and were often featured in adult magazines, adult films, and in exotic dancing performances. There are a number of stores, catalogues, and websites selling garter belts today. Sallyrob 12:53, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
Number of straps on garter belts
This article states that 4 and 6 strap belts are available, but there are belts available with more - I happen to own one with 8. I'm not sure of the best way to edit this myself but when I have more time to do so I will unless someone else has already. Emiwee (talk) 03:44, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
