[edit] OS mistake?

Removing the following:

The use of Garnedd is rumoured to be a mistake by the Ordnance Survey despite the possible soft mutation.

Soft mutation is by far the most natural explanation here - presumably because the name once had the definite article. Here are a whole load of other examples: Fan Brycheiniog, Fan Fawr, Foel Fenlli, Foel-fras, Foel Grach, Foel Gron, Foel Wen, Garnedd Uchaf, Garreg Lwyd, Waun Fach.

A mistake by the OS is a less natural explanation, which needs more substantiation than an unsourced rumor.
