This article should most certainly address recent attacks on his work, most prominently: Robert James Maddox (Ed.): Hiroshima in history: the myths of revisionism.

The first chapter is an attack on Alperovitz specifically as the "godfather of revisionism" while the book goes after the whole idea that the bomb was dropped for any purpose other than as part of the impending Cold War. I do not have the book available, but it is written by serious scholars and the first few pages on amazon.com make Alperovitz seem almost treacherous in his mishandling of the evidence. Someone familiar with his work and its critics should put something in this article.
