Gary James Oakes (born 21 September 1958) was a British athlete who competed chiefly in the 400 metre hurdles. He competed for Great Britain in the 1980 Summer Olympics held in Moscow, Soviet Union in the 400 metre hurdles, where he won the bronze medal.
He is married to fellow 2 time Olympic Bronze medallist Heather Hunte.
