Gary Beauchamp

Gary K. Beauchamp, PhD. is a geneticist and biologist who currently heads Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia.
In the 1970's, Dr. Beauchamp conducted a taste test experiment with cats in the order Panthera. This test showed that big cats held no preference to sugars, and thus had an obsolete and non-functioning sweet taste receptor.
