Coordinates: 22°49′N 88°22′E / 22.82, 88.37 Garulia is a city and a municipality under Jagatdal/ Noapara police stations of Barrackpore subdivision [2]in North 24 Parganas district in the state of West Bengal, India. It is a part of the area covered by Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority.[3]

Garulia is located at 22.82° N 88.37° E[4]. It has an average elevation of 13 metres (42 feet).

As of 2001 India census[5], Garulia had a population of 76,309. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Garulia has an average literacy rate of 73%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 67%. In Garulia, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
