[edit] Storyline
The Legacy Virus is annihilating mutantkind and the Gamesmaster is holding the key. He offers the X-Men a chance to play his game and win the secret, but he also offers the same to their arch-enemies with the added satisfaction of destroying the X-Men. The X-Men must split up to find the cure or perish forever.
[edit] Playable characters
The character lineup for the game includes Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, Gambit, Rogue, Bishop, Jean Grey, and Cable.
[edit] Levels and stages
[edit] Level 1: The Danger Room
The X-Men must go toe-to-toe with horrific holoprojected sentinels and the Brood. Wolverine is recovered when Trevor Fitzroy's high-energy shield is broken through.
[edit] Level 2: The Arctic
The X-Men must snuff out humanoid terminators who attack from lightning fast snowmobiles. Deadly laser guns mounted on towering ice platforms must be destroyed as well. Gambit is recovered when Siena Blaze is defeated.
[edit] Level 3: Hellfire Club
The X-Men must elude the Inner Circle's heinous henchmen and deadly traps. Rogue is recovered when Shinobi Shaw is defeated.
[edit] Level 4: Genosha
The capitol city is ravaged by war, and it's teeming with the mutates and the Unforgiven. The X-Men must keep control of their powers in order to defeat Fabian Cortez and recover Bishop.
[edit] Level 5: Avalon
Magneto's asteroid stronghold is a maze of hidden corridors patrolled by evil Acolytes and robots. Jean Grey is recovered when Exodus is defeated.
[edit] Level 6: Egyptian Base Level 1
The Pyramids are a lethal labyrinth of heavily fortified chambers. The X-Men must face mummies who attack with deadly force; not to mention Apocalypse as well. Cable is also hidden somewhere in this level.
[edit] Level 7: Egyptian Base Level 2
Even more menacing than the first Egyptian level, the X-Men must defend themselves against clawing robot spiders and volleys of white-hot laser fire. Mr. Sinister awaits the X-Men at the end of this level.
[edit] Level 8: Stryfe's Moon Base
The X-Men must find their way through Stryfe's inner sanctum and battle for the ultimate prize: the cure to the Legacy Virus.
