[edit] US-German Relations

"Support" = cause. I was attempting to "save" your usebox in userspace. However, since you made the box, and wish that wording, I'll just move it to your userspace for you User:Gamgee/Userboxes/User USA-Germany as per WP:GUS. Enjoy : )

I saw your "help" userbox on your main page : )
This quote should hopefully explain:
""It should be noted that use of userboxes related to beliefs, ideologies, viewpoints on controversial issues, and ethical convictions is strongly discouraged at Wikipedia, and it is likely that very soon all these userboxes will be deleted or moved to userspace. Their use and creation is not recommended at this time." - Wikipedia:Jimbo on Userboxes
I hope this helps : )
- Jc37 14:12, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
This is just a suggestion, but you might consider moving your userboxes from your main page to User:Gamgee/Userboxes. Feel free to look at my page for ideas. - Jc37 14:48, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Thank you, Jc37, I'm not totally sure if it's the same thing we´re talking about, but I already did this with some of my boxes. If you don´t mind, take a short look at the source code and tell me if this is what you're meaning. Gamgee 16:04, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Sure : )
I'll show you, and you can revert what you don't like : ) - Jc37 16:07, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
Ok, I did the move. I just added a quick link to the userbox sub-page on your main page, I presume you'll do something more "pretty" with it : )
I also might suggest turning your individual userbox code into further sub-pages (like you did with US-German relations).
Hope this helped : )

Thank you once again. I think that I get along with it more or less... Gamgee 20:57, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Transport by city

Hi. I see you reverted some changes I made regarding Category:Transport by city. I think you may be misunderstanding the way categories work here. The general practice is to place articles in the most specific category possible. Wikipedia:Categorization says that "articles should not usually be in both a category and its subcategory." So, for example, Category:Transport in Hanover does not need to be listed directly in Category:Transport by city, because it's also in Category:Transport in Germany by city, which is a subcategory of Category:Transport by city. The same logic applies to many of the articles and categories you edited.

Also, please be careful when making claims about vandalism. We take vandalism very seriously, and good faith edits should never be construed as such. I hope I was able to make things clear. Please let me know if you have any questions. - EurekaLott 02:18, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hunting license

Thank you for your edits to this article. Do you know of any cites or sites that can help improve the article? Bearian 19:13, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

  • You're welcome. But sorry, the only thing I know about is the article in the german wikipedia about the de:Jagdschein. When I have a little more time I can try to translate the essence of it for the english article.

Danke. Bearian 18:04, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] iPhree

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article iPhree, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. PaulC/T+ 15:08, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kluge

Hi Gamgee

So it's "Wise" Berliner not "Intelligent." What I'd originally put was what my translator software threw up. I'd also seen "clever" somewhere. But "wise" is the better word - thanks for altering it.

I have had something of a fascination with Potsdamer Platz for over a decade, and I wrote much of the article, and I'm often tinkering with it, adding new details.

Cheers Tonythepixel 18:59, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

You're welcome, Tonythepixel! I myself am often quite unsure about how appropriate my English is, but I just thought that wise has a little bit more common touch as opposed to intelligent. Gamgee 19:42, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Germany Invitation

Hello, Gamgee! I'd like to call your attention to the WikiProject Germany and the German-speaking Wikipedians' notice board. I hope their links, sub-projects and discussions are interesting and even helpful to you. If not, I hope that new ones will be.
