Games ‘n’ Music
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Datel Games n' Music, otherwise known as Games ‘n’ Music or GnM is a mass market Nintendo DS homebrew device sold by Datel. It inserts into the DS card slot and loads games from a MicroSD card. Unlike most flash cartridges, the Games n' Music does not officially support playing backup copies of DS game cards, and is one of the only flash cartridges available in major retail stores.
Although inexpensive, the device has notoriously slow access speed, which significantly hampers music and video playback. It has also been criticized for its low compatibility with homebrew applications, however, with recent developments such as DLDI this issue has become less significant. The built-in media player software is also considerably poor, with low compatibility and playback quality, however, free homebrew players can be used instead.
The official product description[1] states that the maximum supported SD card size is 2 GB. Not all cards are compatible; Sandisk and Kingston cards are known to work, while PNY Technologies cards are not.[citation needed]
