Game Rating Board

Game Rating Board (GRB, 게임물등급위원회) is the South Korean video game content rating board. A governmental organization, the GRB rates video and computer games for inform nature of game contents to customers.

Initially, the Korea Media Rating Board a governmental organization, rated video and computer games with other entertainment media. But the Korean Game Industry run into big confusion because of the Korea Media Rating Board rated a gambling game called Sea Story as a game suitable for everyone, merely with bribery; They did not consider it a gambling game. After the Korean government got through the painful progress of political controversy, they made GRB in 2006 as the only rating organization for video games.

Four rating used by GRB:

ALL All: Games that everyone can play.
12 12-year +: Games that under 12 cannot play.
15 15-year +: Games that under 15 cannot play.
18 Teenager restricted: Games that teenager (under 18) cannot play.

PC/Console/online/mobile game use all ratings, but arcade game use only 'All' and 'Teenager restricted'.
