[edit] pronunciation

Okay, I'm no native speaker, so if somebody would inform me whether I got it right or not, that would be great. Also, how's Galveston, Texas pronounced? Keith Galveston (talk) 06:01, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

  • My understanding is Galveston, IN is pronounced "Gal-VES-ton" where as Galveston, Texas is pronounced "Galvis-ton". I'm a native of the Texas Galveston, but had the opportunity one time to pass through the Cass County, IL Galveston. Nsaum75 (talk) 10:00, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

I am from GalVESton, Indiana and the emphasis is on the second syllable as you have correctly stated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Schoolmarm2002 (talk • contribs) 20:52, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
