Galaxies are courses in the game, Super Mario Galaxy. Many of the galaxies are accessible via the six domes, and others are accessible by feeding and talking to Hungry Lumas, the Planet of Trials, and by talking to Princess Rosalina. The galaxies house the 121 Power Stars.

[edit] Galaxy List
There are 42 galaxies in the entire game. Here are the first ten.
- Good Egg Galaxy is the first dome galaxy in the game. This galaxy houses the boss Dino Piranha (an obvious reference to Petey Piranha), as well as King Kaliente, a squid-like monster.
- Honeyhive Galaxy is a galaxy that is similar to a beehive. It houses friendly worker bees and the queen bee herself. Also found here is the Bee Mushroom, which allows Mario to transform into Bee Mario.
- Loopdeeloop Galaxy is a giant water track. As the name suggests, it is filled with shuttle loops and turns. You ride a manta ray here.
- Flipswitch Galaxy is a planet made of flipswitches, which must be turned on to get a Power Star. In the center of the planet is a black hole.
- Bowser Jr.'s Galaxy Reactor is the first boss galaxy in the game. Here, you fight a giant robot named "Megaleg" controlled by Bowser Jr..
- Space Junk Galaxy is a galaxy filled with strange planets. One of these planets is shaped like Yoshi's head. You fight the giant spider named Tarantox here.
- Battlerock Galaxy is a galaxy made up of UFOs and a giant space rock called the "Battlerock". Here you fight a spiked top named "Topmaniac" for the first time.
- Rolling Green Galaxy is a galaxy that is resembles a plain. You roll a giant ball through an obstacle course for a star.
- Hurry-Scurry Galaxy is a galaxy made mostly of green platforms that disappear upon being stepped on. You have to collect musical notes while avoiding falling into the black hole in the center.
- Bowser's Star Reactor is the second boss level in the game. the battle takes place on a giant globe in which you battle Bowser.

Hungry Lumas are Lumas that must be fed several Star Bits to unlock galaxies.
- 200 - Sweet Sweet Galaxy
- 400 - Sling Pod Galaxy
- 600 - Bigmouth Galaxy
- 800 - Drip Drop Galaxy
- 1000 - Sand Spiral Galaxy
- 1200 - Boo's Boneyard Galaxy
- 1600 - Snow Cap Galaxy

The Planet of Trials is a planet with three galaxies, accessible by collecting the three Green Power Stars. You talk to one of the Green Lumas to access these galaxies.
