GAKIC
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
GAKIC is a brand name for a widely available nutritional supplement which, among other ingredients, contains a formulation of the glycine and L-arginine salt of alpha-ketoisocaproic acid calcium. GAKIC is a registered trademark. Clinical studies in humans demonstrate that oral consumption of this formulation enhances muscle performance and recovery from fatigue by sustaining muscle force and work output during intense anaerobic exercise. Clinical investigations demonstrating the effects of of this formulation include the use of isokinetic dynamometer telemetry [1] [2] [3] , and Wingate sprint cycle ergometry [4]. The patent[5] assignee for GAKIC is University of Florida.
