[edit] Ilegal Immigrants and growing crime problems

Over the years the city of Gainsville has seen an expoential burst of population growth. This is mainly due to the hundreds of immigrants, both legal and illegal, migrating there. While the city has both been both positively and negitively effected by the wave of newcomers, much more negitive effects have been felt by the citizens of Gainsville than positive. Crime has risen substantionly with gangs starting to show right along with population growth. The healthcare system is begining to feel the consequences of such a wave of people and so are the good tax-paying people of Gainsville. Many people are taking out of the system without putting anything back in. It is clearly evident that Gainsville has an immigration problem, although ridiculously the city is about 1,050 miles away from the border between Mexico and the United States.

I have removed this from the main article until you or someone else can provide reliable sources for any of these claims. Thanks a bunch. -LoserTalent 01:16, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

Agreed; the passage was pure POV. Wikipedia is not a soapbox. -- Rob C. alias Alarob 22:02, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
