Gaelcholáiste Chill Dara

Gaelcholáiste Chill Dara is an Irish-language post-primary school. It is located on the Curragh, County Kildare. The school, which was founded in 2003, welcomes students who wish to receive their second-level education in Irish, whether or not they received their primary education in the language.

Gaelcholáiste Chill Dara aims to represent Irish Culture in every way possible and bring it to life through such themes as 'Teanga' (language), 'Rince Gaelach' (Irish dance), and 'Ceol Gaelach' (Irish music).

In addition, it teaches the full national curriculum: Irish, English, French, Maths, Business Studies, Science, Geography, History, Home Economics, Religion, Music, Art, P.E, Technology, C.S.P.E., and S.P.H.E.

The school also caters for students who wish to take part in Transition Year with a number of different classes and programmes on offer: for example, Computers, Irish Culture, Drama, Self Defence, First Aid, Career Guidance and many more. Students also take part in a number of different projects such as putting together a school CD, starting their own mini-companies, producing the school calendar and magazine, etc.

Students at the school are able to participate in many sports, including Gaelic games, soccer, volleyball, J4. They have also put together two successful variety shows at the Riverbank Theatre in Newbridge along with Luka Bloom and Paddy O Donell.
