Gabriel Amato (born 22 October 1970 in Mar del Plata)[1] is a former Argentine footballer. He begun his career in Aldosivi of Mar del Plata, and later he went on to become one of the few players to have played for the three most popular teams in his country: Boca Juniors and River Plate and Independiente.
He has played for Spanish clubs Hércules CF, RCD Mallorca, Real Betis and Albacete Balompié.
He has also played for Scottish Premier League club Rangers where he played from 1998-2000 after joining from Real Mallorca for £4.2m.
