I really appreacite your initiative to set up the Gheg Albanian version of Wikipedia. However, the issue of the Gheg dialect (which is quite different from the standard Albanian based on Tosk) is very sensitive among the Albanians. It was the base of the standard Albanian language until the end of World War II, when a communist leader from the south took over and raised his own dialect to official language. Today there are many people calling for reforms, at least for the introduction of some Gheg elements to the standard language, but nothing has been done yet. On the other hand, some clamoring for an official Gheg dialect in Kosovo, where the majority of speakers is located, are often criticized for provoking national schism. Thus, it is very important that our efforts to build a Gheg Wikipedia are not taken as endeavors to promote Gheg as a literal language or a prospective official language of Kosovo, but as a dialect or a macrodialect with its own component dialects, spoken today by 3-4 million people and used in Wikipedia for the sake of linguistics rather, just like Old English, Latin, or constructed languages may be used.
