G.723

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

G.723 is a ITU-T standard wideband speech codec. This is an extension of Recommendation G.721 adaptive differential pulse code modulation to 24 and 40 kbit/s for digital circuit multiplication equipment (DCME) applications.

Superseded by G.726, this standard is obsolete.

Note that this is a completely different codec from G.723.1.
