Għaxaq (or Ħal Għaxaq) is a village in the south of Malta, with a population of 4,388 people (Nov 2005). It is mainly a residential area. The parish church is dedicated to the Assumption of Our Lady.The feast of the Assumption of Our Lady (Santa Marija) is held on the 15th of August.
