Fusion Core is an all-age Drum and Bugle Corps competing in the Drum Corps Associates circuit. The corps is also a 501c3 non-profit organization. They are based in Morris County, New Jersey.

[edit] History

A Corps founded after the end of the 2006 season, Fusion Core was something from the start. The founders of the corps are Holly and Ralph Marino, Maurice Banks and Ed Bopp. They started to do some recruiting to compete in the 2007 season. December came and a good number of people came to the open house to see the hype with them. As the season progressed, more people in the Drum Corps community started talking about fusion, saying how they ruined the New York Skyliners, a corps that didn't field a corps for 2007.

Fusion still kept pushing forward with their show entitled "The Journey Begins", which includes songs by Pat Metheny(First Circle and Minuano) and Don Ellis(Loss and Strawberry Soup). They put it all to drill along with a 25 member horn section, six person drumline, six person color guard, six person pit and two Drum Majors, enough to field a Class A corps.

Fusion had their first show July 14, 2007 in Clifton, New Jersey and showed themselves as an experienced corps, not what everyone was expecting. Now the hype on fusion was if they were going to make it to finals as a first year corps. It came to finals and it was a close one for Class A. Fusion missed out on finals by .063 points to SoCal Dream.

Their 2008 show is entitled "Momentum", which includes Kinetic Energy (original by Chris Kilian and JR Bechtel), Force(Fractal Speak by Jeff Beal), Action/Reaction (Today is the Gift by Samuel Hazo), and Terminal Velocity(ride by Samuel Hazo)
