Fusako Shigenobu

Fusako Shigenobu (Japanese name Shigenobu Fusako 重信 房子) b.September 3, 1945 in Tokyo, Japan was the founder and leader of the Japanese Red Army. She attended Meiji University. She was arrested in Osaka in November of 2001 after reportedly hiding in Lebanon for an extended period of time.

She is the mother of Lebanese national Mei Shigenobu, and wrote the book "I Decided to Give Birth to You Under an Apple Tree," documenting her ideological struggles and motherhood.
