Fuji Nobutada
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fuji Nobutada (富士信忠? ? - 1583) was a retainer of the Imagawa clan throughout the latter Sengoku period of Feudal Japan. Initially serving under Imagawa Yoshimoto at the time at which he began his service under the Imagawa, Nobutada may have served during the Battle of Okehazama of 1560, and nonetheless became a retainer under the former's heir--Ujizane--following Yoshimoto's death that same year. As Nobutada became controller over Omiya castle of Suruga around the time at which Ujizane succeeded to headship, Nobutada willingly entered the service of Takeda Shingen in 1568, abandoning the presently dead clan of Imagawa. Following this period in time, Nobutada remained as a head retainer under Shingen's brother--Anayama Baisetsu--up until the former's death in 1582, at which Nobutada more than likely died of old age; but the possibility that he died by the hands of the Oda/Tokugawa alliance is not a doubtful factor.
