From Her to Eternity is the debut album released by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds in 1984. The title is a pun on the book/movie From Here to Eternity.
The majority of the album was recorded at Trident Studios, London in March 1984. "Saint Huck", "Wings off Flies" and "A Box for Black Paul" were recorded at The Garden between September and October 1983.
The band is seen playing a live performance of the title track in the 1987 Wim Wenders film Der Himmel Über Berlin. It was recorded at Hansa Studio, Berlin in February 1987.

[edit] The songs
- "Avalanche" is a cover of the Leonard Cohen song.
- "Well of Misery" is partly in the style of a rhythmic work song or sea shanty.
- "In the Ghetto" is a version of the Elvis song written by Mac Davis.
- "Saint Huck" lyrics make reference to Huckleberry Finn, The Odyssey and Elvis.
- "A Box for Black Paul" possibly refers to the breakup of Cave's previous band the Birthday Party, however, Cave himself has never verified this.
