Worldview website
A tag has been placed on Worldview website, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on Talk:Worldview website. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Thanks. — PyTom 04:38, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
- You may want to review our guidelines for notable web content, which you can read at WP:WEB. Basically, for a website to be included on Wikipedia, it must be notable, which means that reliable secondary sources should have written articles about or given awards to the website. Simply being listed on Google is not enough to establish notability for Wikipedia's purposes.
- I'd also suggest that if you're associated with the website, you may have a Conflict of Interest, and should refrain from editing that article.
- Finally, it's considered good form to sign your talk-page posts, by writing ~~~~ at the end of your message. Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, and taking time to discuss this with me. — PyTom 16:10, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notability of Worldview (child poverty coalition)
A tag has been placed on Worldview (child poverty coalition), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Realkyhick 03:24, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
