Frijid Pink is the debut album by Detroit rock band Frijid Pink. It was released in 1970, under the now-defunct Parrot Records label.

[edit] Initial reception

In 1969, Frijid Pink's distorted cover of "House of the Rising Sun" was released as a single. The song soon soared to Top Ten on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, selling over a million copies. Frijid Pink followed up their success by releasing their debut, self-titled LP. Moderate success was earned, but did not measure up to the fame from their hit single. Their following LP, Defrosted, garnished even less success.

[edit] Track listing errors

The album was re-released on CD including two bonus tracks ("Heartbreak Hotel" and "Music For The People") that were originally released as singles in 1970 and 1971, respectively. The CD re-release being the most widely distributed copy, the two tracks became forgotten as being not part of the original album, and many sources adopted them into the track listing. In actuality, the original 1970 album only had nine tracks.
