Talk:Fresno, California

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

To-do list for Fresno, California:

Top priority:

  • cleanup
  • Add Infobox at the top right along with a image of the city flag and city seal
  • Add History section (with images)
  • Add geographic location box

I just wanted to add that a possible addition to the galleries/attractions section of Fresno, CA could be Broadway Studios at Broadway and Tuolumne, downtown. It's a vivid, active place, open to the public most days, and a hub of activity for young, artistic types, relative to the new indie art/youth movement(s).

Ron Catalano is probably the finest woodwind artist in the country by far for both Jazz and Classical music. We see him often at major sell out venues at major theaters and concert spots. He is also a fantaastic Air Traffic Radio Announcer for KMJ Radio owned by Peak Broadcasting.

[edit] Tower District section hard to read

The entire Tower District section needs a rewrite, in my opinion. Here are some samples of the poor writing in this section:

"The Tower District became the pre-dominant locale in Central California through 1990 - 1995-6. " •Huh?

"Many businesses experienced problems with at-risk and many youth who were believed to be a contributing factor toward problems with declining business profits during the mid 90's Some businesses within the surrounding areas within the zone of influence felt a high degree of business zoning regulation and control by area business committees." •This makes no sense at all.

"These homes stand in stark contrast to the uncontrolled urban sprawl that runs north and east of downtown and attracts a diverse group of residents. Moreover, the Tower District remains one of the few walkable neighborhoods in Fresno." •Again this is hard to understand, plus it makes bold claims that need some documentation.

This section reads more like an insiders play book than an article of fact for an encyclopedia. Anyone want to undertake redoing this section? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mcheath (talkcontribs) 20:20, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
