~ it is confusing on the issue of the french UNION suceeding the French Community, as it is the other way around.

Specifically this line

"part of Guinea, which chose by referendum in 1958 not to join the Community, all French-ruled territory in sub-Saharan Africa joined the successor to the French Union. "

The Chronology is

UNION THEN COMMUNITY

"all French-ruled territory in sub-Saharan Africa joined the successor to the French Union." The line is badly written as the first half of the sentance dates 1958 and the COMMUNITY OCCURED AFTER THE UNION NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

[edit] end date?

When did French Community get dissolved? Or is it still around? (Unlikely given existence of Francophonie...) Wl219 21:11, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
