Freshwater West is a beach in Pembrokeshire at the far south-western tip of Wales. Much visited by surfers for it's consistent swell the beach is nevertheless a dangerous place to enjoy water sports, due to the strong currents. The beach is also notorious for it's quicksand with dogs in particular often suffering a slow death in the deadly sand-pits. There are toilets and an emergency telephone at the south end of the beach.
