Modeste was a 64-gun ship of the line of the French Navy, launched in 1759.
She was captured by the Royal Navy at the Battle of Lagos on 18 August 1759, and commissioned as the third rate HMS Modeste.
Modeste was placed on harbour service in 1778, and was broken up in 1800.
