Fremont peak is in the San Francisco Peaks of northern Arizona. It is the third highest point in the state of Arizona with an elevation of 11,969 feet. While there are no trails that ascend Fremont peak, it is not difficult to climb. Because Agassiz Peak is illegal to climb when it is not covered by snow, Fremont offers the best year-round views of the south from any high point in the San Francisco Peaks. Fremont peak may be noticed from Flagstaff, AZ as the pointy peak on the right. Despite relatively easy access that may be had to Fremont peak, it is seldom ascended and those that do hike it will usually find that they have the peak and its views to themselves.
