Freedom movements in India

There have been many Freedom Movements going on in India. Following are some of the more prominent:
- Freedom from the Mughals by the Marathas in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries
- Freedom from the Mughals and the British by the Sikhs in the seventeenth through nineteenth centuries
- Freedom from British rule from the seventeenth through the twentieth century
- Kashmir Freedom Movement - Violent rebellion by a section of the Muslim population aided by Pakistan and against Indian rule.
- Assam, Naga and Mizo - Violent rebellion against Indian rule currently aided by Christian Missionaries and at one time aided by China.
- Khalistan Movement (ongoing)
