[edit] Story

Cyan is a teenage catboy who lived as a pet to Kokoro, his young human master. Kokoro became sick, which forced him to leave Cyan. Later, after Kokoro's illness takes a turn for the worse, the boy's parents abandoned Cyan, leaving him scavenging for food in the streets of Ikebukuro, Japan. After a while, he discovers a group of stray cats calling themselves the "Free Collars", who believe that collars hold down the cats' "Wild Spirit". They live in the basement of Nyan-Man, an apartment building where Cyan's master lives.

Cyan discovers he is Abyssinian, a breed of cat known for being closest to the wild. Cyan is given the opportunity to join, provided that he removes his collar, his symbol that Cyan is Kokoro's pet.

He later meets Scottie, a catgirl from the same building, who talks about the legend of Wild Cat and his collar that has said to give him strength. She also introduces him to the feud between the Siam Army of West Ikebukuro and the Free Collars of East Ikebukuro, and that they fight for Wild Cat's collar which is rumored to be somewhere in Ikebukuro.

Cyan interferes a fight between the warring factions and, after a brief duel with Siam, takes out his collar and unleashes his Ultimate Cat Attack. Siam's army retreats after the heavy damage.

He later joins the Free Collars, yet not forgetting about his master's promise to return to him.

[edit] Characters

The feline characters in the story are shown as humans with cat ears, tail, and fangs shrunken down to the size of the average cat. This is only seen in the feline characters' perspective. Humans still see them as regular cats.

[edit] Cyan

Cyan is a teenage (in cat years) Abyssinian catboy and the newest member of the Free Collars. He tends to be childlike and cute, which seems to irritate the other members of the gang. His moves are influenced by his master Kokoro's playful actions, like tickling and rubbing. He enjoys being part of the Free Collars but he still prefers the luxuries of domesticated cats such as cat food. Attack: "Suisei! Rin-Rai-Dan!!!" (meaning: "Comet! Bell-Thunder-Shot!!!").

[edit] Scottie

Scottie is a cute Scottish Fold catgirl who spends much of her time with the Free Collars, though she's not one herself (her collar is still tied to her neck). She was discovered by Amesho in a bookstore and saved her life from Cline, thus she feels she is indebted to him. Scottie is a very spoiled house pet but this does not mean that she acts stuck up. Her owner is a total manga otaku and is also honoured as a mangaka. Scottie makes her own clothes and sometimes she also makes clothes for Char. Technique: "Misty Feather/Flower Petal/Full-out Dance".

[edit] Amesho

This grizzled old tom is an American Shorthair and the leader of the Free Collars. He has a cyborg eye to replace his lost right eye. He is a huge video game otaku. An immature pervert, he was mistaken by Cyan to have intimate relations with Scottie. Nicknamed "Old Badger" for his cunning. Attack: "Engoku-Retsuka-Zan!!!" (meaning: "Fiery Hell, Blazing Flame Cut!!!"). His weapon of choice is a scythe.

[edit] Char

Char is a Chartreux catgirl. She is sixteen in cat years. She is part of a popular band were she sings and plays the electric guitar. She was once part of the "Cat House Kingdom" (a household of high-class cats) but she left, feeling that her spirit has been kept chained by the high society life. Her weapons of choice are guitar picks.

[edit] Rat

This Korat is a tech genius. Rat is 12 years old in cat years. Rat is the most talented in gadgets and technology among the Free Collars. He is constantly coming up with inventions such as Invention No.005 which he uses in the first manga to get the best fish before the others. His weapon of choice is a AK-47 and a crossbow (he is seen using these weapons while the Free Collars were training).

[edit] Coon

Coon is a cat with bad attitude and a strong will to get the things he wants. He is a Maine Coon Cat and is 17 cat-years old. He is one of the few cats who can swim and he uses this ability to sneak fish out of the aquarium. He is a fighter for the Free Collars and uses an anchor for his weapon. Easily annoyed by Cyan's childish antics, he often resorts to yelling and fighting. Attack: "Ikari Kazekiri Ken!!!!" (meaning: "Anchor Leading-Edge Cut!!!!").

[edit] Minky

A 6-cat-year old Tonkinese catgirl who befriended Cyan and Scottie. She is named after her mink-like fur.

[edit] Siam

She is a Siamese cat but her age is unknown. She controls all of the West Ikebukuro. She goes against the Free Collars for the control of East Ikebukuro. Siam has a whole army to obey her every whim and her weapon of choice is a multi-tasking gun. She is referred to by Amesho as The Female Fox (kitsune). She is an anime, manga and dojinshi otaku and is jealous of the Old Man's collection of manga and anime. Siam has a bad habit of licking her paw pads and often refers to them as being "water-logged". Siam lives in the basement of a strip club (their base of operations).

[edit] Cline

Siam's principal henchman and the general of the Siam army. She has a distinct hatred for men, and sees them only as her potential slaves. Like Siam, she loaths Amesho with a passion and is easily annoyed by his taunts in mid-combat. Her primary weapon of choice is a modified battle top and launcher. Attack: Galactica Typhoon!
