Frederick F. Houser

Frederick Francis Houser (born April 11, 1905-) served as the Republican Lieutenant Governor of California under governor Earl Warren between 1943 and 1947. He had some attempts at running for other offices including 1932 for 12th district House of Representatives (ran against John Henry Hoeppeland but lost 43.2% to 45.8%) and in 1944 for the Senate losing to Sheridan Downey with 47% of the vote. Houser was also a Superior Court judge. Prior to this, he served on the California State Legislator 1931-33.

Houser graduated from UCLA, specializing in government and economics, in 1926 and won its Edward A. Dickson Alumnus of the Year Award in 1948. He served as president of the alumni association 1933-35. He later was a professor at Harvard in government. He was a resident of Alhambra, California. It is currently unknown whether or not he is still living.
