Fredensborg

Fredensborg is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Region Hovedstaden ("Capital Region"). The municipality covers an area of 112 km², and has a total population of 39.187 (2006). Its mayor is Olav Aaen, a member of the The Liberal Party (Venstre (paradoxically meaning Left)) political party.
The municipality was created January 1st 2007 from a merger of the former municipalities of Karlebo and Fredensborg-Humlebæk.
Fredensborg Palace is located in Fredensborg which is the Danish Royal Family’s spring and autumn residence.
