Fred Seligman

Fred Seligman, M.D., M.P.H. (born 1938) was Chairman of the Department of Child Psychiatry at the University of Miami School of Medicine.

Dr. Seligman was born in 1938 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the son of Harry and Bertha Seligman, and attended Baron Bing High School and McGill University, where he completed both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. After McGill, Dr. Seligman completed his residency at the Montreal Jewish General Hospital and then traveled to Washington State, where he received a Masters in Public Health. Several years later, he completed his training in child psychiatry and eventually became head of the Department at University of Miami School of Medicine.
