Could some get some more information non his stage career? The article cites his Tony awards and nominations but not the roles for which he was cited.

[edit] Influence on vampires

In the article, it states that "His flowing silk clothes and youthful appearance were a key point in the transformation of the vampire from the original novel's coarse and bestial monster as portrayed by Nosferatu to the sleek, sexy neck-biters seen in film and on television in shows like Buffy, the Vampire Slayer."

I find that to be a bit of an overstatement. Vampires were far from 'coarse and beastial' monsters long before Langella's stage appearance. See, for instance, Bela Lugosi's version. In fact, contrary to what the article states, the vampires in the original novel (Dracula) weren't coarse and beastial either. Dracula was of European aristocracy. His brides were sensual temptresses (much like the "sleek, sexy neck-biters" mentioned in the article), as was, for instance, Lucy. If nobody objects, I'm going to go ahead and delete/alter that line.

Removed it because Langella's performance isn't the reason vampires are nowadays portrayed as sleek and sexy, regardless how great it was.

IMDB and other sites list his birthyear as 1938, here it says 1940. Which is correct? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.33.240.232 (talk) 16:53, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

If he graduated from University in 1959, I would personally assume 1938. But, I guess we won't know for sure until he dies! Hotwine8 (talk) 00:28, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
