I'm not convinced this person passes the notability guidelines for musicians. Being associated with notable musicians does not make him in himself notable. There is also a lack of reliable sources in this article, so I'm going to readd the tags until the problems are fixed (if they can be fixed). Darksun 19:54, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

I think Francie Conway does pass the guidelines. He's a renowned singer/songwriter in Ireland for more than 20 years now. He recorded many albums over the year. He recorded with many famous musicians over the world (Jan Akkerman, The Fureys, Ronnie Drew to name a few). Please let me know what I have to add so my work is not deleted.

The guidelines for musicians are at WP:BAND. --Darksun 11:36, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

I still don't understand it. As I remember I did put in some of the notables but of course now that somebody has deleted my contribution (I'm still not sure why somebody has the right to do so!!). Is it right that I have to find articles about Francie over the years. Like: His live performances on Dutch radio and tv (in a place called Gouda). His live performances with Jan Akkerman (check his page and you find that he's one if not the best guitarist in the world) in the Netherlands and Ireland. His number 1 record in Switzerland. I probably don't understand it because it's not in my language and I thought Wikipidea was a free encyclopedia (but obviously that's just a misleading title).

  • Well, for the record, I don't think it should have been speedy deleted. You can try contacting the admin who deleted it (User:Misza13) and ask him to restore it, or you can recreate the article. One of the main problems with the article is that it didn't have any reliable sources. A number one record in Switzerland should be enough to keep the article under WP:MUSIC. --Darksun 22:03, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Article restored to give chance for improvement. For the record ("I'm still not sure why somebody has the right to do so!!"), please read up WP:CSD#A7 for my justification of deleting it in the first place. Миша13 18:21, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Removing prod

This artist was most active from the 1980s to mid-1990s, and the fans he has today are mostly in the older age bracket, so there is not much information available about him on the internet. The best source of information about him on the internet is from his own website [1]. There is enough there to make him notable, but it is not a reliable source. For example Guinness commissioned him to write music for an ad campaign and he's toured and released singles all over Europe. There is a recent article about him in the UK paper The People [2], but a subscription is needed to get it. This mention includes him with "some of the finest musicians in Ireland". He is notable, but I would need access to newspaper archives to 100% prove it. Bláthnaid 19:50, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
