[edit] How NASCAR Stole My Son
HOW NASCAR STOLE MY SON
This incredibly tragic saga began on May 31, 1997 when I first met Amy Lea France, daughter of NASCAR and International Speedway owner Jim France. It was the grand opening of my recording studio “Landstar Studio”. We, soon after, started a whirlwind romance that culminated with me asking her to marry a year after our first meeting. It did not take long for us both to realize we didn’t get along. After we broke up she informed me that she was pregnant with our first child, expressing a desire for an abortion. I vehemently objected! My beautiful son was born July 14, 1999 and very soon after, the drama escalated.
Entering the situation, Amy’s parents, Jim and Sharon France…and more significantly…the entire NASCAR machine. I logically thought that Amy and I would work through family court to arrive an amiable custody and visitation arraignment regarding our son. Instead, I had to deal with a group of people who had absolutely nothing to do with our situation. Earl-the driver…Janet-the housekeeper/babysitter… Alana France-ex-wife of Amy’s brother…etc. These have come to be the people that our son spends most of his time with, when he is not with me. He spends very little time with his mother. In Fact for the first 4 years of his life he called Sharon France “Mama Sharon”
I first asked the family court system for full custody in 2000, when it became clear to me that our son was in the care of strangers, much of the time he was away from me. It has now been eight years since that request. For some inexplicable reason, the family court system has not made a definitive ruling, effectively denying our son a stable family environment. Since his birth, his mother has had no less than 5 new addresses, habitually violating court ordered directives to keep father informed of his son’s address and phone number, 2002 Amy was found guilty of contempt of court, 1 ex-husband who refused a bribe of over $180,000.00 USD from Jim France, the head of NASCAR, if he would agree to “never speak to Andrew Ashley again”. He refused the bribe and sent me an affidavit that chronicles the events of his brief marriage and the way they dealt with people. In his affidavit, Amy’s ex-husband explains how he oversaw Amric Incorporated’s surveillance and investigation of my every move. He actually made several payments on behalf of Amy. After more than a year of surveillance and tens of thousands of dollars spent they did not find an inkling of any wrong doing by me.
Where is the shared parental responsibility that was granted by the court nearly nine years ago? This family has shown a pattern of callous disregard for every directive made by the courts, yet nothing changes. Except my son, who has been in the middle of this all his life! This could have been all behind us when he was an infant but, he is old enough now to unfortunately understand what is happening.
Sincerely, Andrew Ashley —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.205.134.122 (talk) 07:45, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
