Franz Mercurius van Helmont

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Franz Mercurius van Helmont (1614-1699) was the son of Jan Baptiste van Helmont and tutor and friend of Leibniz, who wrote his epitaph. He is best known for his publication of his fathers' prototype works on Chemistry, which link the origins of the science to the religiously-castigated study of alchemy.
