Franklin High School is a public high school in Franklin, Virginia, located approximately 10 miles[citation needed] from its rival, Southampton High School. Franklin High School is an athletic member of the Tri-Rivers District, Class A. Also included in this competitive district are Surry, Charles City, Sussex, and Windsor. The school has around 445 students. Franklin High School is part of the Franklin City Public Schools District.

In the year 2004, the school's varsity football team won the state championship over J.I. Burton High School. During the 2006 season, the Broncos J.V. football team won a district championship and completed an undefeated season.
In the 2007 season, Franklin suffered a 37-21 loss against the Colonial Beach Drifters, who finished the season as Tidewater District Champions. Also in 2007, the J.V. Broncos finished another undefeated season against Charles City: 48-0, which moved their record over the last two years to 13-0.
In 2008, the Girl's Varsity baketball team won the District Title, District Tournament, and Regional Championship. They finished their season with a loss against Buffalo Gap High School in the Virginia State Finals.
