Frankie Duarte

Frankie Duarte (born September 3, 1954 in Santa Monica, CA) was an American boxer at Super Bantamweight.

Daniel Duarte turned pro in 1973 and retired in 1981 after a decision loss to Neptali Alamag.

Duarte came back to boxing in 1984 and made a name for himself at Bantamweight, landing a shot for the WBA Bantamweight Title against Bernardo Pinango in 1987, losing a close decision. In his next fight he upset Alberto Davila and his efforts were awarded Ring magazine comeback of the year for 1987. In 1989 he got another shot at a title, the WBC Super Bantamweight Title against Daniel Zaragoza. Zaragoza won by TKO in the 10th, and Duarte retired for good after the bout.
