Franklin Crisostomo Taveras Fabian (born December 24, 1949 in Las Matas De Santa Cruz, Dominican Republic), is a former professional baseball player who played short stop in the Major Leagues from 1971-1982. Taveras would play for the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Mets, and Montreal Expos. On August 5, 1977, as a Pittsburgh Pirate, he hit an inside-the-park grand slam in the second inning of the second game of a doubleheader at Cincinnati.
