Frank J. Mitchell Elementary School is being restructured by School District #5 as a K-6 facility as of September, 2008. Enrolment figures will also double at that time because of the closure of nearby Mountain View Elementary School.
Frank J. Mitchell Elementary was named after long-time teacher and principal, Frank Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell was a respected educator, WWII veteran and resident of Sparwood and Michel/Natal.
