Frank E. Willis born October 19, 1941 has been the Mayor of the City of Florence, South Carolina since 1995. Prior to serving as Mayor, Willis chaired the Florence County Economic Development Authority. In 1980, he co-founded the SC Transportation Policy and Research Council. He is a member of the Democratic Party.
Willis was born in Bennettsville, South Carolina and educated at Bennettsville High School in Bennettsville, and has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of South Carolina in 1964. For last the last 35 years Willis has been the Chairman of Willis Construction Company headquartered in Florence, South Carolina.
As of 2006 Frank Willis was a Democratic candidate for Governor, but he lost in the primary.
