Francesco Pianeta (born 8 October 1984, Cosenza, Italy) is an unbeaten German based Italian born professional boxer who fights in the heavyweight division.[1]

Pianeta's parents are from Corigliano and when he was six years of age the family emigrated to Germany and his father went to work in a butcher store.[2]
Pianta was originally a muay thai and had a record of 9 wins and one loss before he turned to professional boxing.
Although the was brought up in Germany, Pianeta has held close ties with Italy and has stated that it is his ambition to win the Italian heavyweight title.[2]

From his very professional Pianeta showed that he was prepared to travel internationally to fight opponents. His first fight as a professional boxer was in July 2005, in Hessen, Germany, when he beat Slovakian journeyman Sylvester Petrovic with a second round knockout.[1]
Pianeta has won all of his first 14 fights, with 8 wins by KO. He trained by Manfred Wolke is promoted by Sauerland Event’s and based in Germany although he has also fought in Italy, Ireland, Austria, Poland and Belgium.[1]
