The town is officially called 'Foxborough', but for just about all intents and purposes, 'Foxboro' is used colloquially.
The name spelling of 'Foxboro' comes in part from the longtime business Foxboro Company.
So is Foxboro Stadium realy Foxborough Stadium? If it is than is it named after Foxboro Company? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tstanley12 (talk • contribs) 22:21, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
No, the stadium name was "Foxboro Stadium" (after initial naming as Schaefer Stadium, then Sullivan Stadium). In some historical, pre-Foxboro Company founding writings are found names such as "Foxboro' Foundry" with a shortened spelling of the town name using an apostrophe to indicate missing letters. The spelling of the town name has gone through phases although the official and correct spelling has always been Foxborough.Foxborough —Preceding comment was added at 23:42, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
