Four Women and a Funeral is the fifth episode of the second season of the HBO television series Sex and the City. It originally aired on July 4, 1999.

Everyone needs a man. That's why I rent. If you own and he still rents, then the power structure is all off. It's emasculating. Men don't want a woman who's too self-sufficient.

Carrie starts seeing Mr. Big again. Miranda buys her own apartment on the Upper West Side. Charlotte meets a recent widower at a cemetery. Samantha's past gets her into trouble with New York high society.

A depressed Samantha was originally saved by JFK Jr., in some reruns following his death, this was changed to Leonardo DiCaprio.
