The Foundation for Effective Governance (FEG) was established in 2007 by Ukrainian businessman, Rinat Akhmetov[1][2]. This Ukrainian foundation, aims at developing long-term national economic programs. FEG helps improve people's lives by assisting policy makers at all levels and stakeholders to design and implement actionable public policy solutions, and by furthering public debate on the most important development challenges facing Ukraine.
The Foundation implements programs which are aimed at Ukraine’s economic development. The scope of the Foundation’s projects are broad – development programs on national and regional levels, technical support of government bodies of all levels, research projects and public discussion of the most burning issues.

[edit] Mission
Its mission is to help support the long-term economic development of Ukraine. Among its stated goals is the facilitation of a socio-political consensus in key areas of building economic reform programs. The Foundation has three main distinctive features. First, FEG is aimed at large-scale projects and has stable, guaranteed funding by Ukrainian capital. Second, due to such funding, FEG is able to bring in the best international and Ukrainian experts. Third, the Foundation is strictly result-oriented, as all of its projects and recommendations are practical. The Foundation believes in the strength of their formula: stable funding by local capital, world class expert support, and cooperation with the government.
[edit] Activities
Currently, the Foundation is working on three projects that are in line with its mission and principles and are important for Ukraine’s economic development:
- Preparing Ukraine’s Economic Development Program
- Preparing for the finals of the European Football Championships – Euro 2012
- Comprehensive analysis of the Ukrainian economy’s competitiveness at both national and regional levels, jointly with World Economic Forum
To achieve these goals, the Foundation attracts the leading Ukrainian and international experts with excellent reputations and expertise. The Board of Trustees ensures the Foundation’s independence. Among its members are former Canadian Prime Minister Kim Campbell, former U.S. Senator Lincoln Chafee, former President of the National Bank of Hungary György Surányi[3], and Director General of Financial Policy Institute Ihor Mitiukov. The Board of Trustees is involved in developing the strategy of the Foundation, helps choose priority projects, and represents the Foundation in Ukraine and internationally.
[edit] Results
