Talk:Foster Furcolo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Foster Furcolo's first adminstration was marred by news reports of bribery. He won reelection through a stroke of luck after the original Republican candidate died, but while in office never he overcame a taint of scandal. Four years after he left office, Republican attorney general Ed Brooke convinced a grand jury to indict Furcolo for bribing members of the Governor's Council to approve a political appointee. Furcolo was eventually cleared of the charges. Furcolo is widely remembered in Massachusetts for his support of community colleges.
As of summer, 2007, the article is badly deficient, hardly hinting at Furcolo's remarkable if controversial career. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.44.175.85 (talk) 21:25, August 26, 2007 (UTC)
