[edit] Merge proposal

I think readers would be better served by a single page discussing both the park and the neighborhood, which share a name (if not a territory -- though they do overlap). The neighborhood page has the less ambiguous name (there are various Portland's in the world), though the park page has richer content, so moving that content here would seem to make more sense than the other way around. --ScottMainwaring 07:06, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

I'm wondering how a merge better serves. I think of them as two separate subjects, the neighborhood closely linked to the Portland, Oregon article, and the park more closely linked to List of municipal parks in the United States and Category:Municipal parks in Portland, Oregon. A one-line disambiguation link between them deals with any confusion.
When/if the articles are fully fleshed out, the park article will have park information (acres of redwood cedar, rare species, etc.) and the neighborhood article would contain things like famous residents, number of dogs per capita, annual income or whatever. What purpose(s) is(are) served by combining them? —EncMstr 07:55, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
I agree with the previous poster. The difference between the articles is clearly demarcated. Garrepi 17:11, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
OK, I withdraw the proposal; a disambig note is a better solution. --ScottMainwaring 17:25, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
